January 24 again ...
Are we here in Casa Pura Vida the only ones who think that time passes so fast?
It can of course be due to the fact that as a family we really enjoyed a fantastic Christmas holiday in Finland and a pleasant reunion of our Belgian and Dutch family.
But of course it can also be due to the wonderful winter weather that we have been enjoying this for weeks! The last rain that fell was still in the fall ...
Although the last days and the rest of next week it is cold for Spanish standards, the sun is always present and the outdoors just continues, although it is with an extra layer of clothing.
Almost daily we marvel at the professional cycling teams that have settled here and often make long practice trips in a group or only through our beautiful mountains.

We also took photos of the first almond blossoms a week ago (!). This is very early for the second year in a row for the time of the year but for the lovers of natural beauty an excellent opportunity to fully enjoy this beautiful, annually recurring natural phenomenon.
If you want to come and see the almond blossom yourself, book your trip from the beginning of February to the third week of February to have the best chance of seeing everything in bloom.
Easter will also be an important period for us this year. This is traditionally the time of the year that summer starts for the Spaniards. We see this in the Spanish bookings that are already stuck, but the Dutch and Belgians are also starting to show their annual interest in the Easter period with its traditional parties throughout Spain.
To mention all the festivities here would be too much, but definitely check websites such as www.spanjevandaag.com, on which you can find a lot of relevant info!

The festivities will be extra exuberant this year because many parties are taking place for the first time in a long time (COVID).

In the meantime, the mouthpiece is far behind us and everyone experiences life again as before.
In the following months we will receive many people again, make a few short city trips to Granada and already map out our large, 8 -week summer trip!
Because as you may still know, we rent Casa Pura Vida in July and August as a full holiday home and we go out ourselves.
