03-10-2026: CASA PURA VIDA newsletter

October 2026

Hello dear followers and dear readers!

What a beautiful summer it was again!

And not just here in Spain but all over Europe! Records were broken again in terms of temperature and drought, but also when it comes to lovely guests here at Casa Pura Vida 🌞

From Finland to New Zealand, they have found us. Each with their own wonderful stories and reasons to travel...

People on bikes, people on foot, people by car, and people on motorcycles. We saw them all pass by.

The paellas that Sanne prepared were and are greatly appreciated and were often the reason for long evenings with many different conversations that often caused a lot of laughter but also occasionally brought some silence and reflection.

On the eve of the annual olive harvest, we look back on a few fantastic months during which we also harvested a new batch of almonds. And all of that by hand!

A bit later than planned, but that was also due to the weather.

It stayed very warm for a long time, too warm to go out into the field in the full sun to harvest the almonds.

Even now, as I write this, the forecast still shows that temperatures aren’t planning to drop below 25 degrees anytime soon. I’d say, here’s to a Christmas in shorts!

On another note, we also have some delightful news to share!

We’ve actually bought an extra piece of land adjacent to CASA PURA VIDA. This way, we ensure that the future of Casa Pura Vida remains peaceful and free from neighbors!

Good news for all our guests who come to us seeking tranquility.

As is our very good annual tradition, we were once again able to enjoy the two biggest festivals of the year in Relleu this year:

The August 'Sant Albert' festivities and the September celebrations in honor of our patron saint 'Mare Deu.'

Each lasting 5 days, filled with faith, culture, music, friends, fun, food, and drink. A wonderful mix to talk about and also a fantastic effort by the festival committees to make it happen every time!

Maybe next year we can welcome you too to witness it all?

We also got to witness the passage of the queen stage of the Vuelta, that is, the Tour of Spain, where the eventual winner would extend his lead and win the stage on top of our Sierra Aitana!

This day shouldn’t go unnoticed, so we immediately turned it into the third big party of the summer with tents, food, drinks, music, and friends.

It doesn’t get any cozier than this!

Enjoy a beautiful autumn and a cozy winter, everyone!

We’ll be welcoming some of you again soon, and to all the others: See you soon!

With Pura Vida greetings,

Toon, Sanne, and Koen
